Guidance Notes
Teams and Organisations should have a regular rolling process for agreeing their Objectives and the Budget, Headcount and Roadmap to deliver them.
The Process should:
- Update the Objectives, Budget, Headcount and Roadmap projections based on any learnings, changes to business priorities, or changes to the wider environment since the last cycle.
- Agree the Objectives, Budget, Headcount and Roadmap in the short to medium term against a longer-term projection.
- For Organisations, be backed up by an equivalent process with the Teams and sub-Organisations within in.
- Handle out of band or urgent re-allocations.
- Fund Major Change Initiatives based on balancing how much is wanted to be invested to achieve the outcome vs the evidence of what can be achieved generated through Innovation work.
- Use a value for money feedback loop to generate confidence in continued funding or identify where changes or pivots are required.
