Guidance Notes

Teams and Organisations should have a robust process for identifying the most effective and efficient way of maximising their Measures of Success and delivering their Vision and future Objectives.

This process should:

  1. Enable the identification and evaluation of a wide range of ideas to identify those most likely to be successful and deliver the most value
  2. Enable the identification of the optimal strategy, solution, time, effort, and budget required to implement change initiatives, with a collective review process to agree when this has been achieved
  3. Be experimentally driven, focusing on learning (rather than delivery) to reduce unknowns and risk.
  4. Be innovation funded – starting with small investments and then incrementally increasing this as ideas get whittled down to those most likely to be successful.
  5. Incorporate continuous prioritisation of the innovation portfolio based on those ideas most likely to be successful.
