I’ll break the ice then!
Hello everyone - I’m Jon. I’m one of the Admins on this site, having helped set it up a bit ago as an experiment on ‘thinking out loud’ and open-sourcing material.
I left the Army after a 20-odd year career in 2016, and since then have been largely working in the Defence and Security Sectors. Initially in technology delivery, but increasingly in organisational and portfolio improvement and transformation. I helped form Clear Star in 2023.
I’m fascinated by how stuff gets done in the real-world. It’s all to easy to obsess over frameworks and models - I want to know the mechanisms by which teams, individuals and leaders actually get results. And the mechanisms that stop that happening.
For me, Yokoten is a place to be experiment with being a ‘transparency extremist’. I strongly believe ‘if everyone has all the information, anyone can make the decision’. I am also part of various veteran networks, and have a vision of this site as a useful blend where we can all learn from each other.
